ELITIST...!!!
This is for you Putt.
I have never had a problem debating personal beliefs, and theories with willing parties. I have also always had a general rule that I will not push my beliefs, and or theories on anyone, nor even speak of them unless asked. I understand that a lot of the things that make me who I am; i.e. being a non meat eating, tree hugging anti-religious liberal in this highy conservative area I live in can also cause some tumultuous tension with my elders, and even some peers.
With that said. I want to address some things that have been said to me more than once now, and give my feelings on them. I have been called an "Elitist" for things such as being the afore mentioned Vegetarian, as well as being basically called stupid and again an elitist for doing even the smallest things to help preserve this world we live in like recycling.
I am thoroughly ENRAGED right now. How can you call ME an elitist for not eating meat?!?!?! This is a personal choice for my health as well as animal liberation. Seems to me like you picked up that term from one of your favorite conservative talk show hosts, and it stuck. I was also called an elitist for recycling as well as having been told that recycling is "Stupid" and it is a waste of money.
Are you serious right now? WOW!! YOU ARE THE ELITIST. To believe that your religion is the only religion. To believe that it is STUPID, and A WASTE OF MONEY to take small steps to make the place YOU live in a better place. To refer to facts as Theories because they dont fit your uber right wing agenda.
YOU DONT DEBATE, YOU PREACH..!!!! In your world, you are right, and everyone else is wrong. you are the reason the world looks at America as a bunch of fat loud mouth morons running making fools of themselves. It is YOUR views that are ELITIST, NOT MINE!!..
Now go ahead, and clog some more arteries Preach the true and uninspired word of Jesus around the office place, and tell everyone how they are fucked in the head, while I continue to try to make this a better place to live in.. You also mentioned intolerance. Maybe I am intolerant. but only of foolishness. I WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR INTOLERANE ANYMORE. I WILL NOT BE ONE OF THE UGLY AMERICANS..!!!
Go ahead, and pull out your fucking right wing rhetoric, and hit that button to leave comments, and make 'em good.

On the topic of Vegans Part 1
I am a friend of Mr. Spurrier (At least I hope I still am) I have had some heated debates with Spurrier over the issue of “Vegetarianism” and I see that some of my comments have up-set him a great deal.
I truly have no issue with anyone who chooses to eat only vegetables, for health reasons or for what ever reason. But when a Vegan begins to state that eating vegetables will make you healthier, reduce carbon out-put and conserve the planet from the unnecessary slaughter of innocent animals. Then I say that is an elitist philosophy.
To say that meat eaters are not healthy, to say that eating meat adds to global warming and to equate meat eaters to Nazi SS killers is just down right terrorism and an affront to meat eaters. Again my opinion!
Now if Vegans want to cohabitate in a world with meat eaters then maybe they could be more polite in explaining why you only eat vegetables. Maybe watch the words you use.
Culinary Chef-Anthony Bourdain, a man I respect, has big issues with Vegans and to some of his points I agree. But, when the table is turned on vegans about how healthy eating meat or just vegetables is, they do not like it! Below for your review I have submitted Mr. Bourdain’s Opinion on Vegans. Account for your own conclusions.
Here is what International Culinary Chef – Anthony Bourdain say’s about Vegetarians, from his book Kitchen Confidential Page 70:
“Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. The body, these waterheads imagine, is a temple that should not be polluted by animal protein. It's healthier, they insist, though every vegetarian waiter I've worked with is brought down by any rumor of a cold. Oh, I'll accommodate them, I'll rummage around for something to feed them, for a 'vegetarian plate', if called on to do so. Fourteen dollars for a few slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini suits my food cost fine." From Kitchen Confidential, p. 70.
On the topic of Vegans Part 2
Anthony Bourdain goes on to say in his Blog: July, 12 2008 “Living with E-choli Bacteria Vs. A Purely Vegan World With-Out Meat
Obviously I have no issue eating meat; however I do have a big problem with how animals are raised and slaughtered.
“As humans we're designed by evolution to eat meat. We have eyes in the front of our head. We have fingernails. We have ... teeth and long legs. We were designed from the get-go ... so that we could chase down smaller, stupider creatures, kill them and eat them. Man is designed to eat meat. We are not designed to eat fecal choliform bacteria. This is why I frown upon the practices of larger meat processor and grinders as unconscionable and border on the criminal.”
“Now don’t get me wrong, even though I have a disdain for meat industry practices, I think the push for an all-vegetarian diet is off-base. People eat meat because it's delicious. Let's not forget the pleasure aspect of this argument. People eat meat because they like it. It tastes good. It smells good when it's cooking. I think certainly we could eat better in this country. It would probably not be a bad thing if we ate less meat, if the ratio of animal protein to vegetables changed along the lines of the Chinese model. But to talk about eradicating meat is absolutely silly and unconscionable. Vegans may applaud themselves as the green-peace of the culinary society, when in fact they are terrorist against any splendid gastro phonic enjoyment. Remember this; Hitler was a vegetarian, need I say more”
In an Interview for the Australian Magazine “Food Australia” in Feb.2009 Issue: Anthony Bourdain was asked about American west coast restaurants becoming more Vegan Trendy, his reply was filled with very sarcastic comments about people who are vegan or vegetarian, feeling that their lifestyle is rude to those who inhabit the many countries he visits. Anthony Bourdain has said he considers vegetarianism, except in the case of religious strictures as in India, a "first world luxury." And that vegan’s in general are “Elitist” way outside the mainstream of culinary conceptualism and a burden to 3rd world countries whose basic dietary living standards for the poor could not sustain them on a vegetarian philosophy given the lack of consumable vegetation in many regions of the world. A poor family in the Sudan is very unlikely able to purchase imported eggplants from Italy or Oranges from Florida. Mention Tofu to a native of the Amazon and tell him it’s bad to drink milk from their expensive well kept herds of Murcia-Granada Goats and you just might get stuck with a blow dart”.
Mr. Bourdain’s vegan comments have sparked outrage and has lead to some vegan’s to start an Anti-Bourdain Blog called http://hezbollahtofu.blogspot.com/ (This Blog No Longer Exist)
Mr. Spurrier’s choice to be vegan and his reasons for doing so is all fine and good. But to express to others the vegan philosophy is in fact Elitist and 1st world luxury that most of the rest of the world cannot partake or in some places even comprehend.
You’re Friend
Putt is a Bourgeois name
To say that cutting meat out of your diet will reduce your carbon imprint is not elist.. its true.. to say that it is healthier option to cut meat out of your diet is also not elitist.. its TRUE.. I can not let myself get worked by moronic statements such as these. I just can't fathom why it is elitist for me to tell people how I feel when asked. But it should be totally acceptable for me to listen to your fuckin right wing propaganda and your over-consumerist rhetoric. I don't feel like I am better than anyone else. I am NOT an elitist.. I don't even have elitist views.. quite the opposite..
Also... I understand the need to eat meat in a survival situation.. that's not a question.. you think I'm stupid enough to pass up some protein if the option is death? Fuck you for assuming..
