On the other hand
Sorry to keep harping on this, but I have been thinking again.
To be truly opposed to something like Vegetarianism, which is merely someones personal choice, whether it be for health reasons' animal rights or whatever is INSANE. Thats like me being against people with diabetes trying to refrain from eating too much sugar.
If you want more facts on why I personally choose not to eat flesh, let me know, but that is not what this is for.
I am just so frustrated with peoples stupidity.

On the topic of Vegans Part 1
I am a friend of Mr. Spurrier (At least I hope I still am) I have had some heated debates with Spurrier over the issue of “Vegetarianism” and I see that some of my comments have up-set him a great deal.
I truly have no issue with anyone who chooses to eat only vegetibles, for health reasons or for what ever reason. But when a Vegan begins to state that eating vegetibles will make you more healthy, reduce carbon out-put and conserve the planet from the uncessasary slaughter of innocent animals. Then I say that is an elitist philosophy.
To say that meat eaters are not healthy, to say that eating meat adds to global warming and to equate meat eaters to Nazi SS killers is just down right terrorism and an affront to meat eaters. Again my opinion!
Now if Vegans want to cohabitate in a world with meat eaters then maybe they could be more polite in explaining why you only eat vegitibles. Maybe watch the words you use.
Culinary Chef-Anthony Bourdain, a man I respect, has big issues with Vegans and to some of his points I agree. But, when the table is turned on vegans about how healthy eating meat or just vegetibles is, they do not like it! Below for your review I have submitted Mr. Bourdain’s Opinion on Vegans. Account for your own conclusions.
Here is what International Culinary Chef – Anthony Bourdain say’s about Vegitarians, from his book Kitchen Confidential Page 70:
“Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans, are a persistent irritant to any chef worth a damn. To me, life without veal stock, pork fat, sausage, organ meat, demi-glace, or even stinky cheese is a life not worth living. Vegetarians are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit, and an affront to all I stand for, the pure enjoyment of food. The body, these waterheads imagine, is a temple that should not be polluted by animal protein. It's healthier, they insist, though every vegetarian waiter I've worked with is brought down by any rumor of a cold. Oh, I'll accommodate them, I'll rummage around for something to feed them, for a 'vegetarian plate', if called on to do so. Fourteen dollars for a few slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini suits my food cost fine." From Kitchen Confidential, p. 70.

On the topic of Vegans Part 2
Anthony Bourdain goes on to say in his Blog: July, 12 2008 “Living with E-choli Bacteria Vs. A Purely Vegan World With-Out Meat
Obviously I have no issue eating meat; however I do have a big problem with how animals are raised and slaughtered.
“As humans we're designed by evolution to eat meat. We have eyes in the front of our head. We have fingernails. We have ... teeth and long legs. We were designed from the get-go ... so that we could chase down smaller, stupider creatures, kill them and eat them. Man is designed to eat meat. We are not designed to eat fecal choliform bacteria. This is why I frown upon the practices of larger meat processor and grinders as unconscionable and border on the criminal.”
“Now don’t get me wrong, even though I have a disdain for meat industry practices, I think the push for an all-vegetarian diet is off-base. People eat meat because it's delicious. Let's not forget the pleasure aspect of this argument. People eat meat because they like it. It tastes good. It smells good when it's cooking. I think certainly we could eat better in this country. It would probably not be a bad thing if we ate less meat, if the ratio of animal protein to vegetables changed along the lines of the Chinese model. But to talk about eradicating meat is absolutely silly and unconscionable. Vegans may applaud themselves as the green-peace of the culinary society, when in fact they are terrorist against any splendid gastro phonic enjoyment. Remember this; Hitler was a vegetarian, need I say more”
In an Interview for the Australian Magazine “Food Australia” in Feb.2009 Issue: Anthony Bourdain was asked about American west coast restaurants becoming more Vegan Trendy, his reply was filled with very sarcastic comments about people who are vegan or vegetarian, feeling that their lifestyle is rude to those who inhabit the many countries he visits. Anthony Bourdain has said he considers vegetarianism, except in the case of religious strictures as in India, a "first world luxury." And that vegan’s in general are “Elitist” way outside the mainstream of culinary conceptualism and a burden to 3rd world countries whose basic dietary living standards for the poor could not sustain them on a vegetarian philosophy given the lack of consumable vegetation in many regions of the world. A poor family in the Sudan is very unlikely able to purchase imported eggplants from Italy or Oranges from Florida. Mention Tofu to a native of the Amazon and tell him it’s bad to drink milk from their expensive well kept herds of Murcia-Granada Goats and you just might get stuck with a blow dart”.
Mr. Bourdain’s vegan comments have sparked outrage and has lead to some vegan’s to start an Anti-Bourdain Blog called http://hezbollahtofu.blogspot.com/ (This Blog No Longer Exist)
Mr. Spurrier’s choice to be vegan and his reasons for doing so is all fine and good. But to express to others the vegan philosophy is in fact Elitist and 1st world luxury that most of the rest of the world cannot partake or in some places even comprehend.

Death by Veganism Part 1.
You talk about Reason & Logic or is it the well formulated opinion that train wrecks your bullshit everytime??? Read and weep Bitch!
What is an Elitist? What is the definition? Webster’s defines Elitism as a FEW influential idealist working to implement systems, practices, or ideas favoring the most powerful, rich, beautiful or talented people within a group, place, or society.
Basically a minority group imposing ideals on the masses.
Christians as a group or Jews or Muslims can not, by definition be elitist. That’s not to say that influential groups with-in the masses can’t be elitist, because they can, such as Fanatical Fundamentalist Christians, Zionist Jews and Terrorist Jihadist Muslims.
But as far as Vegans are concerned, they are the few amongst the masses many times demanding, not just suggesting, but demanding that more restaurants become more Vegan Trendy. This is not to say that Chris Spurrier is demanding, but he seems to be proud to be apart of the group that is!
Oh no, here I go assuming again, do not want to assume anything. So let me back-track a little bit. O.K. Mr. Spurrier says he does not partake in the band wagon with Elitist Groups. Chris is vegan for his own reasons, that he is healthier and feels as though he is not contributing to the death of animals and the earth is more fresh and cleaner because of his own personal decision not to eat meat. Well my friend, this is still an elitist thought process (You are among a few, who feel their personal decision is better than the masses) for whatever your reasons are.
Let’s look at this closer. You say that this is a personal choice and that you live healthier than let’s say….Anyone that eats Meat? O.K. it’s your own personal thing (Choice), whatever. But you do not live any healthier than any meat-eater. In fact studies show that most Vegans’ actually live less healthy and are prone to sickness and disease due to a break-down in the immune system. In fact, the New York Times did a case report (I’ll supply all references below) where they show that even “People in India whom live on a strict vegan diet always add Eggs and Dairy to their diet to supplement for lacking proteins, essential fats and vitamins.”
This N.Y. Times report goes on to say that “you cannot create and nourish a robust baby merely on foods from plants”, “Soy Milk and even breast milk is not as nourishing as cows milk is for growing babies. Cow’s milk should be used in moderation”. Also the report goes on to talk about how “Nutritionists used to speak of proteins as “first class” (from meat, fish, eggs and milk) and “second class” (from plants), but today this is considered denigrating to vegetarians.”
Death by Veganism Part 2.
This report goes on to state “The fact remains, though, that humans prefer animal proteins and fats to cereals and tubers, because they contain all the essential amino acids needed for life in the right ratio. This is not true of plant proteins, which are inferior in quantity and quality — even soy.” The Report concludes “A vegan diet may lack vitamin B12, found only in animal foods; usable vitamins A and D, found in meat, fish, eggs and butter; and necessary minerals like calcium and zinc. When humans are deprived of all these nutrients, they will suffer from possible retarded growth, rickets and nerve damage, impotency and a weak immune system”. So don’t waste your breathe Mr. Spurrier on how healthy you really are by not eating meat. Oh, If you use any vitamin or protein supplement pills as part of a daily routine, then note this is from animal based products and their for you are living a lie as a vegan.
You say you are saving the life of some animal that would normally be slaughtered on your behalf, since you only eat plants. This thought is utter ridiculousness. Oregon State University did an eye opening study that shows that a cow, pig, lamb and/or chicken still has your name written on it, for your consumption or not! The US Census and large super market demands set the ratio of slaughtered animals based on total population or stat’s based on consumer purchases.
So there are still animals going off to their doom on your behalf every week, month and year. It matters not if you eat meat or not. A cow continues to die in your name. The OSU study also concludes that if a larger mass of people were to adopt the vegan diet, that this will produce a quicker extinction of animal life than the current norm.
The farming of large quantities of vegetables does more the kill a large number of smaller animal life field mice ground hogs, prairie dogs a great number of other low on the food chain animal and insect life as to throw the whole eco-cycle in to a dangerous situation.
So Mr. Spurrier any decision you make concerning animal life on this planet is still fucked by your decision to eat or not eat meat. Spare me the Hippie down to earth attitude you have for your living a better, greener, and tree hugging and loving the planet bullshit! You may think your hip/trendy and might be cool when you share your vegan life choice with a hot girl at a local vegan eatery. But it’s all a mind fuck anyway. Continue to live in your own little world of false reality. But hey, what’s the big deal, it’s only your own personal lifestyle decision it affects no-one Right??? Now that’s Elitist. Just admit it, your in lot with an elite group that can afford the vegan lifestyle in this 1st world luxury we call America.

I have chosen to live a lifestyle that not only benefits myself but benefits my surroundings, and hopefully makes me feel a little bit better in the meantime.
I’m done arguing with you, the studies you most recently quoted are obviously either somewhat biased, or just plain ol’ out-dated.
The argument about vegetable protein being second to animal protein has been determined FALSE, the B-12 argument as well.
B-12 does not just grow in animal’s flesh. It grows in generally all “dirty” bacteria ridden places. If you were to pull a carrot right out of the ground and eat it without washing it off you would be getting plenty of vitamin B-12 from the soil that it was cultivated in.
I thought I made it clear that you calling me an elitist is OFFENSIVE, call me a pussy if you want. I have lived my entire life with the intent of making sure that I am in general not associated with what I believe to be Elitist attitudes. Attitudes like your own, that follow the old fascist mentality that anytime anyone does something you find questionable, they need to be told how wrong they are. They need to be putt in their place, and again using your words given “formulated opinions” to prove their beliefs are wrong. Putt you told me that you think “recycling is stupid, and a waste of money”. That’s simply ignorant. You are exactly the kind of person the world would be better off without. How DARE YOU call me an Elitist. You don’t fucking know me.
I nor anyone I know or associate with is Vegan, and or vegetarian because it is “trendy” or “hip”. I have NEVER even heard of anyone demanding a menu change at a restaurant. I just don’t eat at Chili’s I embrace the struggle to find food that has 0 animal byproducts, the supplements that come in casings that are made from vegetable starch instead of gelatin, it’s something that I am proud of. It is not however something that I PUSH on other people. I know what I am doing. I know you think I’m just some dumb hippie kid with little knowledge on the world I live in, but that’s not the case Mr. Blickensderfer. I know enough to know that you are the problem with the world, and I choose not to associate with people like you.
